Author Biography

I am Joseph Phillips, a writer of literary fiction and speculative narratives whose work explores identity, displacement, power, and moral tension. My writing blends philosophical inquiry with narrative storytelling in ways that invite readers to think deeply about the structures that shape human experience.

I was born in Greece, lived in the United States and China, and have seen firsthand how culture, place, and language influence both individuals and communities. These experiences shape my voice and inform the themes I explore in my work.

I am currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and English. While building my first full-length novel, I am seeking representation and submitting work to literary journals. I also publish essays, excerpts, and reflections here on Notes in Public.

My goal is to connect with readers and fellow writers who appreciate thoughtful stories that interrogate meaning, identity, and belonging.
